The Christian Brothers are
committed to working alongside the marginalised to provide
support and assistance in empowering themselves to improve
the quality of their lives.
The Christian Brothers (sometimes known as the Irish
Christian Brothers) are probably best known for their
schools and colleges across the world. The principles
espoused by Blessed Edmund have spread to every continent.
Education lifts the people, however not all brothers are
called to a schools ministry. Many are involved in areas
outside of schools, working alongside the poor and
marginalised to assist in the development of skills so that
people can liberate themselves from poverty and grow and
develop.
Some of the projects are large schools in the heart of
Nairobi, Kenya; or a prison pastoral ministries in
Paraguay; or a training facility to support and educate the
carers of those suffering from HIV/AIDS and so on. Please
