Spirituality Centre, Lusaka, Zambia.
Originally established in 1990 the ISC was designed
to provide a Novitiate for Zambian men in training
to become Brothers. In 1997 the Novitiate and
expanded into a pan African novitiate as well as
adding a wider centre for the training of trainers
for various community and local organisations.
The ISC is managed by a team of Christian Brothers
and one Presentation Sister and operates as
partnership of the Christian Brothers &
Presentation Sisters.
The
Novitiate:
Men from across Africa, approximately 12-14 in any
given year, having completed a pre-novitiate
programme and with a continued desire to become
Christian Brothers are accepted into the Novitiate.
In the course of their two year novitiate programme
a novice would typically complete a range of
courses, each of which comprise an equivalent of
sixty hours of face-to-face tuition and workshops,
and one hundred hours of private study.
The Training
Centre:
The second component of the Centre provides
broad-based training and education to various
groups of persons coming from within Lusaka, from
across Zambia and internationally.
