The Edmund Rice Bi-centennial Trust (ERBT) is a fund
raising body designed to support the work of the Christian
Brothers in the developing world.
Edmund Rice (1762 - 1844) founded the Congregation of
Christian Brothers in 1802 in order to provide quality
Catholic education to the materially poor.
Today the work has broadened to include youth work, prison
pastoral care, adult education, parish support and
second-chance education.
The congregation is divided into a number of provinces:
Africa; Americas; Europe; India and Oceania The ERBT
provides the funding for work within the regions in
greatest need. Currently our focus is on the African and
South American provinces.
The Edmund Rice Bicentennial Trust was registered with the
Charity Commission in the UK in July 2003. The registered
number is 1098358.
